My name is Tom Monastra. I am recently retired (2023) and now have time to think and reflect on my life and our society. For me, this is a golden time; a time to use my past experiences to help others. It is a time to get involved more in my community so that when my time here on Earth is done, I can feel like my life made a difference.
As for my background, I was a small business owner since I was 27 years old (in the fall of 2024 I will be 70). I’ve had multiple businesses. Some of the businesses were quite successful and others, well…they were learning experiences. I earned a BA degree from Susquehanna University in 1976. About 30 years later, I earned a Master’s Degree in Leadership Development from Penn State University.
I was married for 37 years to my first wife Charlene and she now resides in heaven! I remarried in 2015 to Eleanor (who was married for 33 years to her husband John who also resides in heaven) and we have 7 children between us and 10 grandchildren. Our lives are full, and we are very blessed.
